OBLHS OFFERS GRANTS to help school children visit lighthouses in their community. For information about or to apply for our STUDENTS' LIGHTHOUSE TRAVEL AWARDS, click the left image (Students' Lighthouse Travel Award) below.
In 2017, Girl Scout Junior Troop # 921, NC Coastal Pines from Raleigh, NC, were granted $1,000.00 to participate in a group camping adventure and learned about two of Cape Hatteras National Seashore's famous beacons....Bodie Island Lighthouse and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. They camped in the Seashore's Cape Point Campground where they viewed Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in the distance and relived their national seashore adventures.

In 2016 the Old Baldy Foundation’s Lighthouse Learners Program
received a $1,000 grant to support the Foundation’s Lighthouse Learners
program by providing matching funds to stimulate other groups to
“Sponsor a Student.”
